A laundry tub is a basin unit that is generally installed in the room with the washing machine to assist with washing. They are very useful for hand washing delicate items or pre-soaking tough stains, and usually have a hollow inside for convenient storage of washing powder, fabric softener and cleaning products.
Some laundry tub units have an inbuilt drain hole close to the taps to run the washing machine drain hose into. This is very useful and will save you having to run the washing machine drain hose into the sink itself or through drainage in the floor, which can sometimes overflow when the machine drains all the used water.
A slimline laundry tub is a great way to maximise space in a small or narrow room. Washing machines are generally very bulky, and where a clothes dryer is installed too there is often very little room left.
A quality unit will last for generations if taken care of and not allowed to rust. When storing your cleaning products inside a laundry tub it is a good idea to keep them in a plastic crate or basket. That way you can remove them easily to make cleaning inside and checking for any rust much easier.
